Healthcare has become one of India’s largest sectors - both in terms of revenue and employment. Indian healthcare sector is growing at a brisk pace due to its strengthening coverage, services and increasing expenditure by both public as well private players.
The overall Indian healthcare market today is worth US$ 100 billion and is expected to grow at a CAGR of 22.9% to US$ 280 billion by 2020. India is looking at a significant scope for enhancing healthcare services considering that healthcare spending as a percentage of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is rising. Rural India, which accounts for over 70 per cent of the population, is set to emerge as a potential demand source.
Shortage of qualified allied medical professionals is one of the key challenges facing the Indian health care industry. India’s ratio of 0.7 doctors and 1.5 nurses per 1,000 people is dramatically lower than the WHO average of 2.5 doctors and nurses per 1,000 people. Furthermore, there is an acute shortage of paramedical and administrative professionals. To fill up this gap and in accordance with the mission of Ministry of Skill Development, TROVE SKILLS is looking at expanding its footprint to impart vocational skills to young personnel to make them employable and fulfill the needs of industry for skilled manpower.
